High-Cycle Pinch Valve – VPAC
1. Stress at the Body Flange Connection
Conventional sleeves are exposed to high mechanical stress at the connection between the sleeve and valve body flange.
2. Stress in the Sleeve Pinching Area
Concentrated stress in the pinching area can accelerate sleeve deterioration. Increased sleeve thickness may intensify this effect while also requiring larger actuators.
3. High-Velocity Flow During Closure
Conventional sleeve deformation can create a narrow flow opening during valve closure, generating high fluid velocities and significant abrasive wear.

Advantages
-
Reduced fluid velocities within the valve body due to the increased flow area in the shutoff region, minimizing abrasive wear.
-
Allows additional elastomer thickness to be incorporated, extending sleeve service life.
-
The normally closed design prevents excessive material stretching and fatigue, improving durability compared to conventional sleeves.
-
Reduced actuation force requirements, as line pressure assists in opening the sleeve.
-
Eliminates the narrow, high-velocity flow opening commonly found in conventional pinch valves, reducing the areas most susceptible to abrasive damage.
-
Enhanced resistance to frequent operating cycles.
