VCAT Tandem-Actuated Gate Valves

The Tandem-Actuated Gate Valve (VCAT) provides effective solutions for controlling abrasive fluids in tailings launders, concentrate handling systems, and other applications within the mining industry. Its main advantages lie in its opening mechanism, which eliminates the risk of gate jamming, and a guide system that provides additional support to prevent blockages. Furthermore, the valve features axially acting seals that enhance sealing performance under the hydrostatic pressure of the fluid.

Regarding linings and dimensions, as with our other solutions, VCAT Tandem-Actuated Gate Valves are custom-engineered and manufactured to meet specific operational requirements. Our designs are tailored to accommodate different geometries, available installation spaces, communication protocols, and fluid characteristics encountered in mineral processing plants, among other operational considerations.

Gate Valve (VCAT)
Advantages

1. Tandem Lifting System

The tandem lifting mechanism prevents gate rotation and misalignment, reducing the likelihood of jamming during valve opening and closing operations.

2. Optimized Guide System

The valve incorporates a guide system with a smaller contact surface than conventional gates, minimizing the risk of blockage caused by sediment buildup and slurry accumulation.

3. Backup Sealing System

An integrated backup seal enhances valve sealing performance. The seal deforms under operating conditions to improve the sealing interface between the gate and its guide.

4. Axial Sealing Mechanism

The gate sealing system operates axially, with sealing effectiveness further enhanced by the pressure exerted by the process fluid.
