Improved Column Flotation Cell Discharge

Optimize level control in column flotation cell discharge applications with our advanced dart valve solutions.

Currently, level control in column flotation cell discharge systems is commonly performed using pinch valves. However, these valves often fail to provide optimal control performance, resulting in oscillations within closed-loop control systems and high process variability. Additionally, the sleeves of these valves have a limited service life, particularly in applications involving abrasive fluids and high differential pressures, as is the case in these operating conditions.

At PESSA, we have designed and characterized dart valves specifically engineered for pressurized systems, such as column flotation cell piping. Our focus on internal valve flow characterization has enabled us to achieve superior control performance, significantly improving closed-loop control response and stabilizing level control in flotation cells. This has a positive impact on the overall performance of column flotation cells.

Furthermore, our valve design accommodates significantly thicker protective linings than conventional pinch valves. We also offer configurations incorporating ceramic inserts, substantially extending valve service life compared to traditional pinch valves. In certain applications, we have achieved up to a ninefold increase in Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), extending operating periods from 4 weeks to 36 months of continuous operation.

Our customers have placed their trust in our solution and have chosen to standardize level control in column flotation cell discharge systems using PESSA VDSP Dart Valves.
